Recommendations for Sephora VIB sale 2013

In the next few weeks (sometime in November, just keep checking your e-mails and Sephora's FB page), Sephora will be having the VIB sale.

The VIB sale is usually 20% off your entire order for Sephora VIB members only.  A Sephora VIB is a person who spends $350 or more within a calendar year at Sephora. If you believe you're a VIB, go make sure account is labeled correctly. You might want to make sure they have your correct e-mail and mailing address, too. VIB members will be sent via e-mail/mailing address a code to take 20% off your order. Anyone who is a VIB can use the code, but your account has to be listed as a VIB, in order for it to work. This is the time to make sure everything is accurate, in order to avoid issues placing your order. ***Keep in mind this is what they did last year, the terms of the sale can change every year. I am just sharing what I have experienced in the past VIB sales.

In order to make the most of this sale, I like to break down what I want into three different categories; basics, splurges and kits. I am going to share my recommendations for each category and explain why I go in the order that I do.

Basics

I always start with basics, these are my tried and true products that I continuously re-purchase. This is when you want to save on the products that are 1). Expensive 2). You will purchase with or without a sale 3). You cannot live without.

1). Perricone MD Blue Plasma $95 for 2 fl. oz.

2). Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream $55 for 1.7 fl. oz.

3). Beauty Blender $28.95 for two

4). Clarisonic Brush Head Replacement 2-Pack $40.00 for two brush heads.

5). LaVanilla Pure Vanilla Perfume $58.00 for 1.7 fl. oz.

6). Shiseido - The Makeup Facial Cotton $9.50

7). Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr Foundation - $45.00

Splurges

Splurges are products that are too expensive to buy full price and you wait for a sale to get. This is when you want to buy a Clarisonic or a T3 hairdryer, etc..

1). Clarisonic Mia 2 - $150

2). T3 Featherweight 2 Hair dryer - $200

3). Marc Jacobs - The Bronze - Bronzer Brush No. 12 - $78

4). Prada Candy Gift Set - $115

5). Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick - $22. Yes, this is a splurge, because I would not spend $22 on a lipstick.

Kits

Kits are a great way to try a bunch of new products without making the commitment with a full-size product. How many times do you really finish a full-size product?

1). Sephora Favorites - Super Stars $75 for 12 pieces. Three pieces are full-size products; Origins GinZing eye cream, Stila Stay All Day eye liner and Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream in Light.

2). Sephora Favorites - Give Me Some Lip $25 for 6 pieces. I like this better than the other lip kit, because these are shades I would wear more.

3). Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette $58 for 3 different shades, plus you get a mini of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. I am still 50/50 on this palette, only because all three shades equals ONE full-size shade. I am only interested in Dim Light, and not so much the the other two  (Incandescent light (limited edition) and Radiant Light). If you want to try all three, then this is a great palette for you, but if you only want one shade, then just get single, full-size product.

4). Benefit - It's A Love Fest $36 for 4 pieces, two are full-size. This is a great kit if you love the Benefit Porefessional. For $6 more, you get a full-size mascara and two other deluxe samples.

5). Tarte - Off The Cuff Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush Palette and Cuff $42 for four blushes, a bronzer and a cuff.

6). Josie Maran - Escape to Morocco Holiday Lights and Brights Set $29 for 4 pieces (one is the new Argan Oil Light and it is really nice to wear during the daytime, especially if you have oily skin).

These are just some of my recommendations for this sale. If anything, I just hope this helps you make the most of this sale and to get all the products you really want.
