Five Beauty Favorites of August 2013, One Regret Product and GIVEAWAY WINNER!!

Hello Lovelies!!! It is time for my August Beauty Favorites of 2013.

Unlike most people who will say "this month has flown bye", I am going to say August dragged on and didn't seem like it would end!! August was a big month for our family and I am happy it is FINALLY OVER!!

Before I get into my favorites, I want to say the WINNER of the Wet n Wild trio in Enlisting For Beauty is......DANIELA!! I will be contacting you shortly, so please respond within 48 hours of my message with your mailing address. Congratulations!!!

1). Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion
This is a lotion that can be used all over your body, your face and your hands. I first heard about this from Makeupbytiffanyd on YT, she mentioned it numerous times how it fixed her hands and now she uses it on her face. I believe she has oily/combo skin too, so I figured I would give it a try and if anything, it would be good to use on my hands.

I fell in LOVE with this and have been using it on my face since I purchased it. My skin doesn't feel or get oily, it sinks right into your skin, but leaves it feeling balanced. It has cut down the redness on my face and has soothed my irritated skin. When I put on my foundation, it just glides right on, it stays longer than it used to and my skin gets 50% less oily since I have started to use this product. I love this so much that I am buying a back-up.

I do have breakouts right now, but it is NOT because of this product. It is due to another issue I will address in a future post.

2). Benefit POREfessional Face Primer
I used this months ago, was not impressed and set it aside. This past month I decided to give it a second try and just loved the way my foundation looked with it on. It fills in my pores, evens out my complexion and it made my foundation wear longer.

I still love the MUFE primer, but that is for when my skin is irritated, red, normal/dry.

3). Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in Shade 1.0
I went back and forth with this foundation. I bought it once, returned it and then bought it again a few months ago. I still couldn't fall in love with it and even toyed with selling it to someone else. After we moved, I pulled this out, tried it again (with my beauty blender) and this has been perfect for me. The same thing happened with my Lancome foundation, I hated it for a period of time, then one day I needed it and it worked.

The Naked Skin Foundation has been talked about to death, but I will say some of the features I love about it. It is lightweight, medium coverage, sets fast, a demi - matte finish and it does not fall off my face in the AZ heat.

4). Carmex Healing Lip Balm
Not once in my life have I used Carmex before and I have no idea why. After our drive in, I was burned all over and my lips were burned, too. I headed to Walmart to look for the Neosporin lip treatment, but it was nowhere to be found. I saw this, it said it was a healing lip balm and for only $.98, if it was terrible, I wouldn't be out much. Within 1 day my lips were healing and by the second day, they were healed, no longer chapped and looked back to normal.

I have continued to use this daily and I will be re-purchasing it.

5). Dermablend Professional Setting Powder
This is my HOLY GRAIL setting powder for my foundation. I use this every day I wear my foundation, I will tap my Sephora Professional Airbrush #55 brush into it, tap off the excess and gently sweep it in my t-zone. I recently started to apply it all over (oily skin) and my face just wears nicely throughout the day and heat.

If you have dry skin, I do NOT recommend this product for you. If you have combination skin, just apply it where you get oily. If you have oily skin, well, have fun and dust it all over. Keep in mind it is a white powder, so apply a little bit and don't get heavy handed.

My regret for the month is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush foundation. I will do a separate review on it, but for the amount of product you get for the price, you could get more product from another brand. Plus, it wasn't really that nice of a foundation on. It looked cakey, it took more product than it should to cover (to achieve the advertised full coverage) and the application was a pain in the butt. It took way too long to apply a powder foundation. I have plenty of powder foundations, in fact, I wore them for a few years and it shouldn't be more work than a liquid. I do like powder foundations, but this one seemed like a waste of money and time.
