Do you ever have such a good day, that all you want to do is get as much done in that day? That day is today, and I am determined to get this review up before I eat lunch.
There are many exfoliators on the market, some that you use 2-3 times a week, some weekly and others that are marketed as gentle enough for daily use. I tend to prefer the formula’s that are gentle enough for daily use. I have sensitive, combination skin and don’t want to use anything too harsh on my face. I try to keep in mind the word, gentle, when it comes to my skin care routine. My face responds to gentle treatments and it will almost rebel (ha ha) when I do something too harsh.
One of my favorite exfoliators is the Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash. On Philosophy’s website, this is what it says about the product:
- A 30-second cleansing mini peel that can be conducted in the shower, in the bath or at your bathroom sink.
- Regular exfoliation helps buffer fine lines, even skin tone and give the skin a healthy glow
- Gentle enough for daily use
The Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash was my saving grace when I was on Atralin and my face my peeling badly (I will talk about my experience in another blog post). I had to use something daily to help remove the peeling skin and this worked perfectly. My skin was raw, red, irritated and this was one of the few products that would slough off the peeling skin, without making my redness worse and bothering my raw skin. Actually, this is one of two exfoliators that did not make my face red afterwards.
The granules are very fine and move over you slightly damp face easily. It will not tug or feel like it is cutting your face. It does not burn, it does not make me breakout, and it is great to use when your face needs a pick me up. I will use this morning and night for a few days (if I need to get off some flakey skin) or I will use this once or twice a week. That is what I love about this product; you can make it work any way that you need it to, without doing too much to your face.
I also enjoy the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, but I didn’t want to pay the $50 price tag.
How Do I Use It?
Weekly – I will squeeze out about a nickel size of product and apply it after I have washed all my make-up off. I will gently rub it into my skin in circular motions, wet my Clarisonic Mia 2 and will use that all over my face to really deep clean and exfoliate.
Daily – When I need it daily, I will use the same amount as weekly, but I will avoid using my Clarisonic (as that would be too much for my skin).
Where Can You Buy It?
Sephora, Ulta, Philosophy, Nordstrom, QVC… I have noticed on QVC they do have the extra large size of both the Microdelivery and the Purity cleanser, sometimes they offer it in multiple payments, too.
- I have the 8 fl. oz. version, I paid $26 and I purchased it at Ulta.
- The product description states it can help with fine lines, but I cannot give my feedback on that. I do not have any issues with fine lines, but if/when I do, I will update this.
- HAHA, I said “if” about getting fine lines… I wish.
